  • DIRECT ENLISTED COURSE NO II/2019 BIDS ADIEU TO MILITARY ACADEMY

    Four lady and three gentleman Officer Cadets of DE II/2019, who are MBBS doctors began their military training on 23rd November 2019 received their course completion certificates at a special ceremony held at the Laphir Auditorium on 28th March 2020. The Commandant, Brigadier A K G K U Gnanaratne ndc psc graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest while the Deputy Commandant, Wing Heads, Company Commanders, Course Officers and Course NCOs also attended the event. The Chief Guest during his closing address appreciated the decision made by these trainees to join the Army and underscored their professional behaviour, responsibilities of army officers, optimism, leadership and military acclimatization essential for career progression and personality development in their field of Medicine.

  • INTER-COMPANY VOLLEYBALL COMPETITION - 2020

    The final countdown of the Inter-Company Volleyball Competition between Gannoruwa Coy and Randeniwala Coy was held at the Academy Gymnasium on 04th March 2020 with the participation of all cadet intakes.

  • INTER-COMPANY BASKETBALL COMPETITION - 2020

    The final of the Inter-Company Basketball Competition was glamorously held at the Academy Gymnasium on 26th February 2020 with the participation of officer cadets of 88, 89, 90 and 88B. The event was graced by the presence of the Commandant, Brigadier A K G K U Gnanaratne psc as the Chief Guest, wing heads, officers, officer cadets and other ranks of the Academy.

  • VISIT OF COMMANDER OF ZAMBIAN ARMY – LIEUTENANT GENERAL W M SIKAZWE psc DIP (DSS) MA (DSS)

    A delegation of eight high-ranking officers from Zambia including the Commander of the Zambian Army – Lieutenant General W M Sikazwe psc DIP (DSS) MA (DSS) called on the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa on 22nd February 2020.

    Fifteen officers of Intake 13 trained at the then ATC visited the SLMA with their charming ladies on 8th & 9th February 2020 in marking their 40th Intake anniversary.

  • THIRTY-FORTH COMMANDANT ASSUMES DUTIES AT SLMA

    Brigadier A K G K U Gnanaratne psc, who was trained at the very institute 32 years ago with Intake 29, took over duties as the thirty-forth Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa on February 07th, 2020. Upon arrival, he laid a wreath at the Monument of Peace erected to honour the fallen officers of the Army, and took the salute of the ceremonial parade accorded to him.

  • INTAKE 3 OFFICERS VISIT SLMA

    Seven officers of Intake 3 including Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, who were trained at the then ATC visited the SLMA with their spouses on 05th February 2020 marking the 50th anniversary.

  • TOUR OF TEACHER TRAINEES OF DAMBADENIYA SARIPUTTA NATIONAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION TO THE MILITARY ACADEMY

    One hundred and twenty five teacher training students visited Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa on 31st January 2020. They were warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer- OCW, Col KVNP Premarathne RSP USP psc and other officers at the Academy ‘A’ gate. Upon their arrival, they paid their tribute to ‘Monument of Peace’ located at the academy main entrance and they sighted the sacred parade ground on the opposite side. Afterwards, they were educated on the role and tasks of the military academy through a very comprehensive academy presentation conducted at Sino Lanka Auditorium. The delegation was hosted in hospitality and a tea party for them was arranged at the Officer Cadets’ Mess for their refreshment.
