Serve to Lead

LIBRARY

The new library complex was renovated and declared open on 30th October 2011 with diverse facilities; Audio Visual Room, Learning Support Center and VIP Lounge in addition to regular facilities such as the reading, lending and reference sections. The new library uses an automated and integrated computer system to locate and find books for its readers. The facility can accommodate three intakes at a time and with the opening of the new library. The “Best Reader” of the year is chosen out of all cadets and awarded a special prize at the annual Award Ceremony. The SLMA Library is in possession of the largest collection of books in the army with multiple copies of books, journals and magazines related to all academic and military disciplines of their degree programme.

Use of lending, reference and reading areas is allowed throughout the week from 0800 am to 0800 pm for officers, cadets, NCOs and any family member of the SLMA staff. In addition, free Wi-fi and e-copies of books required for trainee cadets are also readily available at the library. The SLMA library is in liaison with SUSL and KDU libraries to facilitate exchange of books.

The SLMA library does its best, especially to make trainee cadets enthusiastic readers with knowledge and intelligence to overcome future challenges.
