On 1st January 2025, a flag hoisting ceremony was conducted at the SLMA marking the first working day of the year. During the event, the National Flag and the SLMA Flag were hoisted by the Deputy Commandant and the Commanding Officer of the Administrative Wing, respectively. The ceremony was attended by a section of officers and soldiers serving at SLMA. Following the flag hoisting, the government’s pledge was read aloud by the Adjutant, with all attendees reciting it afterward. Subsequently, the troops viewed the President’s address on the government’s "Clean Sri Lanka" national initiative, with the objective of making a fruitful transformation in moral, environmental and social aspects of communities.

The 99th Commissioning Ceremony of the Sri Lanka Military Academy, held on 20th and 21st December, 2024, marked an important moment in the Academy's history with the commissioning of 219 young officer cadets from Regular Officer Cadet Intakes 93B, SC 21 and SC 22.The Commissioning Ceremony was compounded by four major events, primarily the Final Research Presentation, Commissioning Parade, Pipping Ceremony and Commissioning Banquet.

Customarily, the SLMA conducts the Commandant’s Presentation and Parade two days prior to the Commissioning Parade. This practice helps in extending timely guidance, encouragements and compliance on the upcoming POP related events. The Commandant, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP psc graced to witness the Final Research Presentation on 18th evening and the Parade of the passing out Intakes 93B, SC21 and SC22 on 19th morning.

The Inter Intake Boxing Meet- 2024 was held on Friday, 29 November 2024 at the Academy Gymnasium. Lady and gentleman Officer Cadets of Intake 93B, SC 21,SC 22, SC 21A and 22A contested for the championship of the Best Boxer in various weight categories.

The term "Counter-Revolutionary Warfare" (CRW) encompasses a range of strategies employed by militaries worldwide to equip soldiers for combat in hostile environments and extreme conditions. The SLMA offers this vital experience to its trainee Officer Cadets during their final term, by conducting Field Exercise Wanabambara in two phases for twenty-two days.

Opening Address marks the commencement of officer cadet training at the Military Academy, Diyathalawa. On 28th October 2024, 13 Officer Cadets from Intake DE III/2024, consisting of six medical officers and seven engineering officers were geared to undergo their basic intensive training with the Opening Address by the Deputy Commandant of the SLMA, Brigadier PSJD Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc. During the speech, the Deputy Commandant highlighted the purpose of the military training, adherence to SLMA customs, traditions and SOPs while staying at the SLMA. He particularly emphasized the importance of living upon the 'Cadet Honour Code' and pursuing the Academy's motto, 'Serve to Lead', to be successful in military life. This special event was attended by all Wing Heads, officers, and other rank instructors of the SLMA.
