  • DIAMOND JUBILEE CEREBRATION OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY

    On 10 October 2024, the Sri Lanka Military Academy conducted a special programme to celebrate the 75th Army Day. The programme commenced with hoisting of the Army Flag by the Deputy Commandant, Brigadier PSJD Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc, followed by singing of the Army Anthem, a two-minute silence observance, reading of the felicitation message issued by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.

  • INTER COMPANY COMBAT FIRING MEET 2024

    The Inter Company Combat Firing Meet 2024 was held at the Field Firing Range (FFR) of Fox Hill from October 3 to October 5, 2024. Officer Cadets from Intakes 93, 93B, SC 21, and SC 22 participated in the competition representing their four Companies for the Champion Company Trophy.

  • OPENING ADDRESS OF INTAKE 62 V

    The Opening Address traditionally signifies the beginning of the officer cadet training at the SLMA. On 5 October, 2024, Intake 62 V, consisting of 15 junior officer cadets, began their training with the Opening Address by the Deputy Commandant of SLMA, Brigadier P S J D Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc. During his speech, he highlighted the objectives of the training, and the significance of adhering to military customs and traditions. He particularly emphasized the importance of respecting the 'Cadet Honour Code' and upholding the Academy's motto, 'Serve to Lead.' The event was attended by all Wing Heads, officers, and other rank instructors of the Intake.

  • INDIAN DELEGATION PAYS CULTURAL VISIT TO SLMA

    A delegation of officers and other ranks representing the Indian tri-services paid a cultural visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 3 October 2024. The visit aimed to strengthen military ties and foster cultural exchange between Sri Lanka and India, reinforcing the bond between the two neighboring nations.

  • 14TH DEPUTY COMMANDANT ASSUMES OFFICE

    On 18th September 2024, Brigadier PSJD Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc assumed his duties as the 14th Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) at auspicious moment amidst blessings of the Maha Sangha. The taking over of duties was initiated with signing of official documents by the New Deputy Commandant and this special occasion was witnessed by all Wing Heads and staff officers of the Headquarters. At this great landmark, the officers and staff of the Military Academy add their heartiest congratulations to the newly appointed Deputy Commandant for a successful tenure at the SLMA.

  • CADETS CONDUCT “EX SCORPION"

    The "Exercise Scorpion" is a comprehensive field training activity, conducted to provide officer cadets with the required theoretical knowledge and practical experience in conducting company level military operations within Internal Security (IS) and CRW scenarios, in coordination with civilian authorities. The Exercise derived its name from the fictional insurgent group "Scorpion" laying an imaginary foundation for military exercise purposes.

  • THE 3RD BOM MEETING AT THE SLMA

    Board of Management (BOM) meetings are periodically held at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) with the involvement of key stakeholders of the Sri Lanka Army and the SLMA, in order to review the training and administrative matters related to the SLMA, in accomplishing its desired goals.

  • ‘KEEP IT CLEAN, KEEP IT GREEN’ CLEANING CAMPAIGN

    Sri Lanka Military Academy always imparts knowledge on the importance of environmental protection and preservation responsibilities within its trainee officer cadets during their course of training at Diyatalawa by engaging them with voluntary social activities such as cleaning campaigns, tree plantation programmes etc.

  • INTAKE 93B SHIELDED ‘THE CHAMPIONS’ OF THE INTER INTAKE DEBATE COMPETITION – 2024

    The Language Studies Division of the SLMA holds the Inter Intake Debate Competition annually to enhance officer cadets' debating and public speaking skills, fostering their logical thinking, awareness on pertinent issues, while promoting cooperation among them.
