The Direct Enlisted Officer Cadet Intake DE I – 2025 successfully completed their three-month Military Orientation Package, marking a significant milestone in their transition into military leadership. The intensive training programme was designed to instill foundational military knowledge and discipline, covering a wide range of subjects including Drill, Weapons Training, Tactics, Regimental Accounts, Service Writing, Methods of Instruction, Leadership, Military Law, and Administration.
In conjunction with the fall-out ceremony held on 26 April 2025 at the Col Fazely Laphir Auditorium, a series of events were organized including the Commanding Officer’s Cocktail, final presentation on the topic “Leadership of General Norman Schwarzkopf”, and the official certificate awarding ceremony where the proud parents and relatives of the young gentlemen gathered to witness the young cadets receive their white epaulettes — a symbol of their new status as Probationary Officers.
The event was graced by the presence of the Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing (OCW), Colonel SDKWMMI Weliwita RWP RSP USP psc. In his address, the Commanding Officer extended his heartfelt congratulations and emphasized the vital role these officers will play in upholding the professionalism and standards of the Sri Lanka Army.
Following the ceremony, the four newly commissioned Probationary Officers were posted to various regiments including the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, the Corps of Engineer Services, and the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps.
