On 07 May 2025, forty- three officer cadets from Intake 38 KDU (Technical) and 40 KDU, undergoing training at the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), China Bay visited the SLMA, a significant destination of their educational visit.
Upon the arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the Officer Commanding - Balana Company, Adjt OCW, and coordinating officers along with the cadet government at the main entrance of the Academy. Afterwards, the visitors were made aware of the historical significance of the War Memorial, Parade Ground and Vision statement by senior officer cadets of Intake 93. Afterwards, they witnessed the Academy documentary video at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium and paid a courtesy call on the Commandant SLMA. Later on, in entertaining the naval students, a friendly basketball match was held at the gymnasium. During their stay, they also visited the SLMA Museum, and the Equestrian Section of SLMA.
In concluding the visit, lunch was served at the Officer Cadets’ Mess followed by an interactive session between the Officer Cadets of SLMA and NMA.
