VISIT OF SCC 13 TO THE SLMA

On 28 April 2025, Student Officers of Senior Command Course No 13 from the Army War College (AWC), Buttala paid a visit to the SLMA as per the practice conducted during each course. The purpose of the visit was to witness and gain comprehensive knowledge on varied types of ‘DRILLS’ practiced in the Army. On their arrival to the SLMA, they were warmly welcomed and afterwards were given with the required theoretical and practical knowledge on Ceremonial Drills, Guard Turnout, Guard of Honour, Guard Mounting and Dismounting, and Military Funeral Drills with demonstrations from the Drill Instructors and the students of the ongoing DI course at a few locations of the Military Academy and The Fox Hill area. Finally, the visit came to an end with an interactive session between the Student Officers and the staff of the SLMA at the Officers’ Mess followed by a feast. The series of events were witnessed by the Commandants of SLMA and AWC.
