29th Anniversary of the Academy

“The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”

A tree planting ceremony was conducted at the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 20 August in pursuance of the 29th Anniversary. The usual celebrations were annulled due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. An “Iron Wood” sapling was planted at the Headquarters Complex by the Commandant - SLMA, Brigadier WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc with the participation of Deputy Commandant, a few officers and officer cadets. Following the event, even the Wing Heads joined in planting trees at their office complexes.
