Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) celebrated its 70th anniversary on 14 October 2019 with several formalities and other activities.
Lieutenant General Dalip Singh Rathore VSM, Director General Ordnance Services and Senior Colonel Commandant of Indian Army Ordnance Corps, as the Chief Guest attended the formalities held at the SLAOC Regimental Headquarters Dombagoda.

The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena has promoted Col SNA Dissanayake ato of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) to the rank of temporary Brigadier, states a communique issued by the Military Secretariat on Friday (16) evening. Today he has been worn with new prestigious rank by the Quarter Master General and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps at the QMG office in the morning.

The newly constructed cafeteria building of Ordnance Sport Complex , Dombagoda was declared open on 24th July 2019 at 1117 hrs (Auspicious time) by The Quarter Master General and Colonel Commandant SLAOC Maj Gen H G I Vidyananda VSV USP AATO Lsc with the participation of Centre Comdt of SLAOC Brig S M W B N Thalagahawatta ato, Comdt Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Factory Brig C U Marasinghe RSP USP , senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SLAOC.
