The Unveiling Ceremony of "Major General Lionel Aluvihare Drive" was held at RHQ SLAOC on 2 January 2026, marking a moment of profound significance in honour of distinguished service, leadership and enduring legacy. The drive has been named in recognition of Major General Lionel Aluvihare’s pivotal role in identifying and selecting the present camp premises, a decisive contribution that laid the foundation for the establishment and continued development of the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.

With the guidance of the Quarter Master General and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Major General W M S N Wijekoon ndc AATO, together with Mrs. Shirani Nirmalin Wijekoon, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, and under the supervision of the Commandant, School of Ordnance, Colonel CT Siriwardana Lsc AATO, the School of Ordnance, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, conducted the customary all-night Pirith Pinkama on 19 December 2025.

The celebrations paid tribute to the Corps’ proud heritage, honouring its fallen heroes while strengthening unity and camaraderie among all ranks.

The main Corps Day celebration took place on 14 October 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, with full military honours. The Colonel Commandant was warmly received by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier AGCR Amarasinghe USP ato, in keeping with military traditions. A Guard Turnout and a Corps Day Parade highlighted the professionalism and discipline of SLAOC.

An All Ranks Get-Together was held on 17 October 2025, adding a festive spirit to the celebrations. The event, graced by the Colonel Commandant, featured a musical performance by the renowned SLAOC band “Super Ronds,” which entertained the gathering and created an evening of joy and camaraderie among officers and soldiers alike.

To conclude the 76th Corps Day celebrations, a Retired Officers’ Get-Together was held on 24 October 2025 at the Officers’ Mess, Regimental Headquarters SLAOC. The event brought together retired and serving officers, reviving old memories and reaffirming the lifelong bond between past and present members of the Corps. The fellowship evening symbolized the unity, respect, and tradition that define the SLAOC family.

A ceremonial farewell was accorded to Major General E M M Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, the Commander Logistics Command and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, marking his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after an illustrious military career spanning over 34 years. This dignified event took place on 07 July 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Dombagoda, in keeping with time honoured military customs and traditions.
