In order to uplift the living standards and the accommodation facilities of soldiers, The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Major General RV Udawatta psc ato, declared open the newly constructed three- storied 120 x 20 size dormitory on 08 December 2016 with the presence of Officers and Other Ranks of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.

Maj Gen RV Udawatta psc ato assumed duties as the new deputy chief of staff, the third highest appointment of the Sri Lanka Army on Thursday, 15 December 2016 amidst greetings and best wishes. This is the highest office hold by any Ordnance Corps Officer in the Sri Lanka Army History.

Deputy Chief of Staff , Maj Gen RV Udawatta psc ato was honoured by a guard turnout and a guard of honour by the troops of SLAOC on 22nd December 2016 at the RHQ premises.On his arrival Brigadier Jayathilake, Centre Commandant of SLAOC warmly received him at the main entrance and guard turnout was given by the troops of Sri Lanka Ordnance corps.
