Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Factory
With the expansion of the Sri Lanka Army, Ordnance Factory was detached from Sch of Ord and estb as an independent org. It was declared open by then the Commander of the Army Lt Gen RMD Rathnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc on 01 September 2014.
The prime objective of Ord Factory to produce iron beds, web eqpt, shoes, repair of equipment and printing work. The production of iron beds has been launched.
Col HL Guruge AATO is the first and present Commandant of the Ordnance Factory. An establishment of Officers and Other Ranks for the Factory has been sent to the Dte of SD for approval.
First production of 500 beds by the factory after its inception was handed over to then the Commander of the Army Lt Gen RMD Rathnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc for the use of the Army on 19 September 2014.
