Upholding the traditions and customs, the Commanding Officer of 5 SLAOC Maj RMPKI Rathnayaka Lsc with all officers warmly welcome the Colonel Commandant on 09th May 2025.
As a symbolic gesture to commemorate the visit, he planted a sapling and later participated in a group photograph.
Afterwards Commanding Officer briefed all administrative and technical matters to the Colonel Commandant and then after visited the camp premises.
During the visit Colonel Commandant inspected ORs' Mess, Accommodation and he engaged in cordial interactions with the Officers and NCOs at the WO's & Sgts' Mess.
Concluding the visit, he addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of maintaining efficient administration within the unit and finally he penned his thoughts and wishes on the visitor’s book
On 10 May 2025, the Colonel Commandant participated in the morning almsgiving ceremony held at the historic Thissa Temple in Kankasanthurei, accompanied by his family members and fellow officers. Following the almsgiving, the Colonel Commandant visited the Officers' Mess of 5 SLAOC where he engaged in a fruitful discussion with officers stationed in the area.
After sharing lunch with the officers, the Colonel Commandant proceeded to inspect the Ordnance Dump located at Periyapachchapale. He commended the staff for their commitment to operational readiness and encouraged them to maintain meticulous standards in all aspects of ordnance management.
