Major General Channa Weerasooriya, Deputy Chief of Staff on Wednesday (6) made a formal visit to the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Factory at Dombagoda where tyres are retreaded and inspected its other functional aspects. This was his first visit after he took over the new office.

Newly constructed Holiday bungalows by 1 SLAOC - Little Wood, 2 SLAOC - Rajarata Crown Resort and 6 SLAOC - Iranamadu Rest at Ordnance Sports Complex were inaugural opened by the Colonel Commandant on 22 of June 2022. Officers Training day program was successfully conducted on 22 of June 2022 at sch of Ordnance. There were three fruitful lectures were conducted by Lt Col VD Warusawithana ato regarding Army hist, Core values, Mandated Role and Tasks as the first lecture and secondary Visiting lecture was conducted by Mr Dhanushka Sumathirathne from Bank of Ceylon regarding Letter of Credit Establishment Procedure. Finally Maj RDSR Bandara was conducted a lecture about SLAOC hist, Org and depl. As the last event Diners club was held at the officers’ mess with the participation of Colonel Commandant and many senior officers, officers. The chief of staff Major General Vikum Liyanage recently visited on the Central Arms and Ammunition Depot (CAAD) at Veyangoda on 27 April 2022, in order to receive and update on functional aspects of ammo refilling and pyrotechnics. During the visit chief of staff had a close look at the ammo refilling section and pyrotechnics section and made inquiries into deferent faces of its process. Master General Ordnance, Major General Hirosha Wanigasekara, The Director, Directorate of Ordnance Services, Brigadier Indrajith Vithanachchi, Centre Commandant of SLAOC, Brigadier Ajith Munasinghe, Colonel General Staff of Directorate of Operations, Col MKDP Mapalagama together with Colonel Ordnance, Colonel Ananda Jayarathne too joined the occasion.
