  • THE FALL OUT CEREMONY OF FOURTEEN OFFICER CADETS TRAINED AT SLMA

    The Fall Out Ceremony of Fourteen Officer Cadets trained at the Sri Lanka Military Academy under Intake 91, SC 19 (A), 61(V) A and 18 (V) were held on 28th June 2023 and the Ceremony was comprised of a charming Pipping Ceremony, CO’s Dinner Night and Felicitating Ceremony.

  • VISIT OF BANGLADESH DELEGATION TO SLMA

    On 26 June, 2023, a Bangladesh delegation comprising of high-ranking military officers headed by Major General M D Faizur Rahman, the Commandant of Defense Services Command and Staff College paid an official visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy.

  • EX FROZEN TROUT GIVES CONVENTIONAL BATTLEFIELD EXPOSURE TO TRAINEES

    ‘Exercise Frozen Trout’ derived its name from a trout which lives in extreme chilly waters and adapts itself to the clime and geography for its survival. This exercise is one of the main field exercises conducted for the trainees in the penultimate term to educate them on conventional warfare tactics in the general area Ambewela as a part of their military training curriculum. During this field exercise, Officer Cadets are expected to undertake the responsibilities of various operational appointments such as combat team commanders, subordinate commanders and so on in conventional warfare settings where practical application of military knowledge on four phases of war is particularly tested.

  • ANNUAL BOOK DONATIONS TO THE SLMA: FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR 2023

    The SLMA Library, with over 15,000 books and fully-fledged facilities plays a pivotal role in imparting the much-needed academic knowledge to trainees and officers. During the first half of the year 2023, several authors and institutions donated a considerable number of books to the SLMA Library to reinforce the intellectual horizon of library users.

  • Conduct of Exercise “SCORPION”

    Exercise "Scorpion" is one of the significant field exercises carried out in the penultimate term of officer cadets' military training curriculum to inculcate theoretical knowledge on Company level military engagements in Internal Security (IS) Operations and to provide them with first-hand experiences in the execution of such operations in civil and military coordination to capture insurgents, who are engaged in sabotage activities.

  • VISIT OF A NIGERIAN DELEGATION TO SLMA

    On 8 June, 2023, a delegation consisting of high-ranking military officers from Nigeria, headed by Major General SO Olabanji, Head of the Department- Training and Doctrine of the Nigerian Army paid an official visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy. On arrival, the delegation was cordially welcomed by all Wing Heads along with the Academy Adjutant at the main entrance.

  • SEVENTY-NINE PROFESSIONALLY QUALIFIED DRILL INSTRUCTORS(DIs) OF 129TH DI COURSE MARCHED OUT

    ‘DRILL’ which stands for Discipline, Respect, Integrity, Learning and Leadership holds a prominent place in improving togetherness, working under one command and instilling discipline within soldiers. In line with this core concept, Drill Instructor Course at the Sri Lanka Military Academy is designed and conducted to inculcate military drills within soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army.

  • INTAKE 93 ON BOARD FOR A STRENUOUS, YET WONDERFUL MILITARY EXPEDITION

    The Opening Address by the Commandant at the very beginning of any officer cadet training at SLMA traditionally marks the commencement of military training at SLMA- Diyatalawa. On 05 June 2023, Intake 93 consisting of 78 fresh Officer Cadets began their training with the Opening Address by the Commandant, Maj Gen I A N B Perera RWP RSP ndu psc at the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium with the presence of Wing Heads, Officers and Other rank Instructors of the Academy.

  • Visit of Naval and Maritime Academy Delegation to SLMA

    Field visits for students are generally organized to reinforce their experiential and contextual learning. On 30th May 2023, twenty two Midshipmen of the 68th Intake and two Officers from the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee visited the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa as one of their destinations of their study tour.
