On 8 June, 2023, a delegation consisting of high-ranking military officers from Nigeria, headed by Major General SO Olabanji, Head of the Department- Training and Doctrine of the Nigerian Army paid an official visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy. On arrival, the delegation was cordially welcomed by all Wing Heads along with the Academy Adjutant at the main entrance.
The visit was signified in laying a flower wreath at the foot of the War Memorial in honour of the fallen warriors of the Sri Lanka Army and the significance of the Memorial was briefed to the delegation. Afterwards, the distinguished guests called on the Commandant Major General I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc at his office for a brief interaction and then the guests moved on to the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium, where they watched the SLMA documentary. Then, they were served with refreshments at the Officer Cadets’ Mess while interacting with the Commandant, Wing Heads, Officers and trainee Officer Cadets. In remembrance of the journey to salubrious climes of picturesque Diyatalawa, a group photograph was taken at the Cadet Mess entrance and the visit came to a memorable end with the exchange of mementos.
