  • LT COL RUWAN EHELEPOLA ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE NEW COMMANDING OFFICER-OCW

    Lt Col E W R S B Ehelepola USP USACGSC of the Gajaba Regiment who performed duties as the Chief Instructor of the Military Training Wing (MTW) assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing on 15 March and the significant moment was treasured by conducting a ceremonial parade consisting of 21 officers, 62 NCOs and 96 officer cadets representing four cadet companies, the Training Support Company and the Admin Company at the academy parade square.

    The 74th Independence Day carried a significance that a record number of Officers and Other Ranks were received their promotions to their next rank. The jubilant moment was intensified by promoting 7 Senior Brigadiers to the rank of Major General. The fortune was stepped at the military academy, Diyatalawa as the commandant of SLMA, Brigadier WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc received his promotion from the the President upon the recommendations of Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.

On 02 February 2022, Intake SC 19 empowered with 66 energetic youngsters attended their Opening Address held at the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium and the Commandant-SLMA Brig W W H R R V M N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc, graced the event as the Chief Guest along with other Wing Heads, Senior Officers and Officers of the Academy.

  • THE 126TH DI COURSE ON BOARD

    The 126th Drill Instructors Course consisting of 128 SNCOs from 24 Regiments of the Sri Lanka Army began their comprehensive Drill Instructors’ Course conducted by the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 19 January 2022 and the course will be reading the conclusion on 30th April. The opening address of the course was held at the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium with the participation of the Commandant as the Chief Guest.

    The Opening Address by the Commandant officially symbolizes the beginning of challenging, yet magnificent military life of the fresh trainees who are directed to complete their basic military training at SLMA. KDU 91 B consisting of 53 officer cadets with a Maldivian trainee and a Zambian trainee, Direct Enlisted Course- 1/2022 with 38 officer cadets in varied professions, Lady 18 (V) with 16 lady officer cadets and Other Rank Commission Intake-1 with 22 officer cadets started their military training with the opening remarks made by Brig W W H R R V M N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the Commandant-SLMA on 14th January 2022 at the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium.
