SLMA BLESSED WITH SIX MAJORS

Promotion to ranks in the military profession is one of the stunning moments of any military personnel’s life. The process of getting promoted in the Army is meticulous and depends on multidisciplinary factors such as physical efficiency, level of education, unblemished service records etc.

On 18 May 2023, six young Captains serving at the Military Academy in various appointments were promoted to the rank of Major in conjunction with the victory day. The simple investiture ceremony of the six officers; Capt Imran Hussain GW, Capt Mojitha Thrimana SLSR, Capt Sandararuwan Bandara SLAGSC, Capt Abdur Raheem SLA, Capt Harsha Hettiarachchi SLE and Capt Kasun Kaluarachchi SLE was conducted by the Commandant, Major General Buddhika Perera RWP USP ndu psc at his office. After adorning them with the new insignia, the grand milestone of their life was marked with the receipt of gifts and compliments from the Commandant and all officers of the Academy.
