History of the War Heroes’ Memorial
a. This war memorial was unveiled by the Colonel Commandant of SLAOC, Brigadier RMBP Ranasinghe USP on 12 December 2001 on the invitation of then Regimental Centre Commandant, Colonel BPHS Mendis and the then Commanding Officer of the SLAOC, Major HGI Vidyananda AATO Lsc

Artillery weapon and ammunitions - The Ordnance Corps insignia depicting the concept of presenting the ord. requirements in a timely and efficient manner

Water flowing from exterior - Tears (tears for the dead heroes)
Pond - Strength (unity and togetherness on behalf of the dead heroes)
