The most meritorious acts in Buddhist culture, including the "Kanchuka Pooja," "Ashta Pana Bodhi Pooja," and "Heel Danaya," were observed at the Somawathie Raja Maha Viharaya on June 1 and 2, 2024. The events were held under the guidance of Mrs. Iresha Fernando, President of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, and supervised by Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, the Logistics Commander - SFHQ (J), Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, and Major BDR Perera psc Lsc AATO SLAOC, the Commanding Officer of 3 SLAOC.
On the evening of June 1, the Col Comdt of SLAOC, President of the SVB, and other SVB members, along with senior Offts and Offrs, participated in the "Kanchuka Pooja" and "Ashta Pana Bodhi Pooja." The event was further enhanced with a “Belimal Dansala.”
On the morning of June 2, a "Heel Danaya" for 10 Buddhist monks was conducted. Senior Offrs, Offrs, ORs, and civil staff of the 3 SLAOC provided their full cooperation to ensure the success of the program.
The entire event was attended by members of the SVB - SLAOC executive board, the Log Comd - SFHQ (J) & the Col Comdt of SLAOC, the Log Comd- SFHQ (E), the Director of the Dte of Ord Svcs, snr Offrs, and Offrs of SLAOC.
