BRIGADIER E M M FERNANDO Hdmc Lsc AATO ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 17TH COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS

Brigadier E M M Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO formally assumed the role of the 17th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps on the 30^th of October 2023, in a dignified and elegant ceremony held at the RHQ SLAOC, Dombagoda.

Commencing the day's proceedings, Col K M A W K Perera AATO, the Centre Commandant of SLAOC, extended a warm reception to Brigadier Menaka Fernando at the main entrance, followed by a formal guard turnout by the Sri Lanka Ordnance Corps. Subsequently, a floral tribute was paid at the Fallen War Heroes Monument and planted a sapling at RHQ Premises. A photograph was taken with officers and after a brief religious observance was conducted, the new Colonel Commandant affixed his signature to a formal document, signifying his acceptance of the duties and responsibilities of this prestigious appointment in the presence of the Regimental staff.

Following an All Ranks tea, during the troop address, the new Colonel Commandant underscored the significance of collaborative efforts, unity, and the development of the corps with disciplined and well-qualified personnel.
