Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch hosted a lunch and an entertaining programme for Sathuta Childrens’ Home at Saliyapura on 30th January 2021 for the children who suffered with behavioural disorders on the patronage of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Maj Gen Chandana Marasinghe RSP USP and the president of Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Subhashini Dodamthanna Marasinghe. Mrs Padmini Kariyawasam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
All children were given a delicious meal whilst members of Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch interacted with the children. The event also included a calypso musical entertaining session. During this event Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch distributed gift parcels to children and donated a rice cooker, mattresses, pillows, mosquito nets, sanitary items and dry rations etc for the use of childrens’ home.
The event was coordinated by the Commanding Officer of 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Lt Col Vijitha Ekanayake USP ato along with all Officers, Other Ranks of the unit. The Deputy Centre Commandant of RHQ SLAOC, the Regimental Staff Officers including Lady Officers, Other Ranks and family members also joined the event.
