Maj MGEM Abeykoon psc Lsc AATO

1.       Major M G E M Abeykoon psc Lsc AATO SLAOC was born in Kandy, Central Province Sri Lanka and received education from Ranabima Royal College. He was born on 07 Sep 1985 and joined to the Sri Lanka Army in year 2005. On commissioning in 2008, he joined the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps. He has followed the cadet officer training from Sri Lanka Military Academy – Diyathalawa and followed a Bsc in Commerce Degree in Kotelawala Defence University.

2.       He has held important appointments during his military career in various capacities. In he hold the appointments as Platoon Commander School of Ordnance, Internal Security Officer of RHQ SLAOC, Adjutant of 2 SLAOC (ANP), Stock Control Officer of 2 SLAOC (ANP), Stock Control Officer of Base Ordnance Depot, SO III of RHQ SLAOC, SO II (Procurement) of Directorate of Ordnance Services (AHQ), SO III (A) and SO II (Account) of RHQ SLAOC, GSO II (Trg) of RHQ SLAOC, Chief Instructor of School of Ordnance (Dombagoda), Directing Staff of Army School of Logistics (TCO), Regimental Adjutant RHQ SLAOC, 2nd in Command of 6 SLAOC (Kilinochchi) and presently performing the duties as the Commanding Officer of 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.

3.       Other than that he followed the Young Officers Course (ITC/CRTS/ATS), Junior Logistic Staff Course - ASL (TCO), Basic counselling course( NCC), fire team member course , English Course at KDU Prior to psc No : 10, Foreign Study Tour Logistics Staff Course No : 04 (India), Foreign Study Tour in Staff Course (Indonesia), Basic english course ( Malaysia) and United Nation Staff Officers Course (UNSOC) NO : 05 IPSOTSL(Kukuleganga)

4.       He has followed many training courses in Sri Lanka and abroad and graduated from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (Sri Lanka) in the year 2016 and obtain Masters of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies. He also followed the Logistics Staff Course (Pakistan) in year 2014 and qualified with Lsc and followed Advance Material Management Course (India) year 2021 and qualified with AATO. Further he has followed Defence Services Command and Staff College (Pakistan) in year 2018 and obtain Master of Science in Art and Science of Warfare.

5.       Major M G E M Abeykoon psc Lsc AATO counts nearly 19 years of loyal and unblemished record of service in the Sri Lanka Army including the training period.
