Lt Col GGMG De SILVA ato

1.      Lietenant Colonel GGMG De Silva ato, born on 17th Aprill 1975, is a distinguished alumnus of . He commenced his career in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army on 01st December 1997, as an Officer Cadet of Intake BMA 04. After completing basic military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyathalawa and Bangladesh Military Academy, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and assigned to the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps on 19 May 1999.

2.      Throughout his military career, Lieutenant Colonel Madhu De Silva has held various roles encompassing both operational and non-operational spheres. These positions include Group Officer 2 SLAOC (ANP), Ordnance Officer at HQ 216 BDE (VNA), Adjutant of 2 SLAOC (ANP), Adjutant of School of Ordnance, Adjutant of 5 SLAOC (KKS), Officer Commanding of Forward Ordnance Depot at 55 Infantry Division, Overlooking Deputy Commandant of Army Clothing Depot, Officer In Charge of Logistic Services Squadron KDU (RTM), Officer Instructor of Recruit Training Coordinating Cell (PTM), Second in Command of 3 SLAOC (MIN), Group Officer of Central Arms and Ammunition Depot. Furthermore he has served as Staff Officer 2 at Deputy Chief of Staff office, Deputy Commandant of Base Ordnance Depot, Deputy Commandant of Central Arms and Ammunition Depot and Staff Officer 1 at Security Force Headquarters (W), Currently, Lieutenant Colonel Madhu De Silva serves as the Commandant of Army Clothing Depot.

3.      Lieutenant Colonel Madhu De Silva professional development includes participation in numerous local and foreign academic and professional courses. Notably, he has completed the Young Officer Course (ITC/CRTS/ATS), Junior Staff Course – 33 at SLMA (Diyathalawa), Psychological Operations Course (RHQ SLE), Basic Ordnance Management Course - 69 (India), Ammunition Engineering Course – (China).

4.      In recognition of his service, Lieutenant Colonel Madhu De Silva has been awarded the East Humanitarian Operation Medal, North Humanitarian Operation Medal, Purna Bhumi Padakkama, North and East Operations Medal, Rivirasa Campaign Service Medal, Sewabimani Padakkama, Sewa Padakkama, and 75th Independence Anniversary Medal.
