FINANCIAL AID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS TO UPLIFT LIVING CONDITION OF THE FAMILIES OF WAR HEROES OF SLAOC
On the direction of President, Ordnance Seva Vantha Unit Mrs. Deepika Udawatta, Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAOC has made arrangements to renovate the house of deceased war hero of Ordnance Corps. S/601224 L/Cpl Chandrarathna C. Who made supreme sacrifice on 02 May 2000, whilst on active duty at 231 Bde (Welioya) due to Claymore mine explosion.\r\n\r\nOn the request made by his father, the Seva Vanitha Unit of the SLAOC has approved of Rs. 233,325.00 worth of construction project to renovate the deplorable condition house. Which was accommodated by his siblings.\r\n\r\nThe construction project was undertaken by the 2 Regt SLAOC and they had replaced most of the wooden planks of the roof and old tile replaced with Asbestos sheets.\r\n\r\nIn addition to that SLAOC Seva Vanitha Unit has also funded to construct retaining wall to protect the house from earth slip for S/601212 L/Cpl Abesingha Banda WW (Rtd). This project was undertaken by 4 (V) SLAOC.
