On 03 July 2020, at Regimental Headquarters Dombagoada, a felicitation ceremony was held to honour Maj Gen C U Marasinghe RSP USP given his recent promotion. The customary event was attended by a substantial number of Officers and Other Ranks in RHQ SLAOC. On behalf of the Colonel Commandant, the Centre Commandant extended the warm wishes to the DGOS.
Featuring the traditional event, first, he reviewed the guard turnout presented to him and accepted the Regimental salute by the RHQ SLAOC. Thereafter, he planted a 'Nuga Tree' and attended a tea party organized by All Ranks. After the tea party, he addressed the troops and commended their service to SLAOC and specially thanked them for the unrivalled support given to him throughout his military career.
Finally, DGOS was gracious enough to offer a delicious and well organized dinner party at the Regimental Office’s mess to Officers of SLAOC followed with a Cocktail.
