The Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps presented military honors and warm greetings to the newly-appointed Colonel Commandant, Major General B S Vidanage during the formal ceremony held at the Regimental Headquarters at Dombagoda on Monday (28) July 2017.
On arrival at the Regimental Headquarters, the newly appointed Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier J A D P Jayathilake USP ato and awarded a Guard Turnout as the initial military formality.The Colonel Commandant accepted the regimental salute , a Guard of Honour with military traditions. Then in the new office, officially assumed the duties as the Colonel Commandant in the midst of pirith chanting by the Maha Sanga at the auspicious time.Adding memories to the occasion, Colonel Commandant planted a sapling in the Regimental Headquarters premises and the day ceremony was concluded with the subsequent events of addressing All Ranks, addressing all officers an discussion with the senior officers, courtesy lunch at the Officers Mess.
