Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps 70th Anniversary Held at Regimental Headquarters

Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) celebrated its 70th anniversary on 14 October 2019 with several formalities and other activities.

Lieutenant General Dalip Singh Rathore VSM, Director General Ordnance Services and Senior Colonel Commandant of Indian Army Ordnance Corps, as the Chief Guest attended the formalities held at the SLAOC Regimental Headquarters Dombagoda.

The agenda comprised with a Guard Turn Out, a Guard of Honour in accordance with military traditions saluted to Lieutenant General Dalip Singh Rathore VSM to remark the arrival at the Regimental Headquarters premises and then he visited Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Factory (SLAOF), model room at School of Ordnance, sapling of a plant and visited to newly constructed SLAOC cricket stadium. After that commemoration of fallen war hero’s was held at the monument of 1st Regiment Sri Lanka Army ordnance Corps - Panagoda.

All rank lunch was taken place with the presence of Colonel Commandant SLAOC Major General HGI Vidyananda VSV USP AATO Lsc to remark the unity of all ranks of the corps.

In the evening, Director General Ordnance Services and Senior Colonel Commandant of Indian Army Ordnance Corps Lieutenant General Dalip Singh Rathore VSM graced the occasion as a chief guest along with his lady wife for the mess night which was a glamorous event to conclude the 70th anniversary commemoration of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.
