In conjunction with the monthly activities of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, the 2nd Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps orchestrated a donation program on 11 February 2024, at the "Sathuta Children's Home" in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura.
The initiative, spearheaded by the President of SLAOC - SVB, Mrs. Iresha Fernando, drew inspiration, and guidance from Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, the Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North) and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.
The program commenced with a sumptuous lunch and an entertainment session for the 28 children in attendance. Additionally, essential items packs including fruits, medicines, milk powder, dry rations, and sanitary items were generously donated to the children. The officers and other ranks of the 2nd Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps actively contributed to the success of the event.
The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Iresha Fernando, the President of the Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch and the Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North) and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Maj Gen EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO. In addition few members of SLAOC - SVB, the Commandant of Base Ordnance Depot, the Officiating Commanding Officer of 2nd Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, senior officers, and other ranks took part in the event.
