In conjunction with the monthly activities of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, on 17 July of 2024, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, in collaboration with the Base Ordnance Depot, orchestrated a heartwarming donation program at the "ACCC" Child Development Centre in Ragama.
The initiative, spearheaded by Mrs. Iresha Fernando, President of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, drew inspiration and participation from Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, Commander of the Logistics Command and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.
As per the program, The entertainment session inclusive with a magic show and dancing and singing by Ordnance cultural dancing team and calypso team to captivate the children in attendance. Then all together treated the children with a sumptuous and nutritious lunch with sweats. Further, essential items such as blender, wall fans, ceiling fans and recreation items were generously donated to the children. The Officers and Other Ranks of the Base Ordnance Depot played an active role in ensuring the event's success.
The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Iresha Fernando and Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO. Additionally, members of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, the Commandant of the Base Ordnance Depot, the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, the Deputy Commandant of the Base Ordnance Depot, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in this memorable occasion.
This initiative not only highlighted the generosity and community spirit of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps but also brought joy and support to the children of the "ACCC" Child Development Centre.
