The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps held the Grade Five Scholarship Awarding Ceremony on 23rd November 2025 at the RHQ SLAOC, recognizing the outstanding academic achievements of 28 children of the Ordnance family.
The event was graced by Major General WMSN Wijekoon ndc AATO, Quarter Master General and Colonel Commandant of the SLAOC and Mrs. Shirani Nirmaleen Wijekoon, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch. The programme featured the lighting of the oil lamp, Seva Vanitha Anthem, a moment of silence for fallen war heroes and cultural performances by the SLAOC cultural team. All students who qualified in the Grade Five scholarship examination received school bags, stationery, and educational materials in appreciation of their achievements.
Senior Seva Vanitha members, officers, Other Ranks, scholarship recipients and their parents attended the ceremony, which concluded with a strong sense of pride and encouragement. All participants of the programme attended the tea event that followed the ceremony.
Subsequently, the Monthly Committee Meeting of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch was held under the guidance of Mrs. Shirani Nirmaleen Wijekoon, focusing on ongoing welfare initiatives and upcoming projects aimed at further uplifting the Corps community.
