Opening of Ordnance Rugby Complex

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army turning a new chapter for promotion of Army Rugby on Friday (08) by ceremonially, opening of the newly-constructed Rugby ground at Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) premises in Dombagoda.

The day’s Chief Guest, Commander of the Army was welcomed by Major General Indrajith Vidyananda, Quarter Master General (QMG) and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC).

Later on, the ground opening match commenced between Army Rugby team and Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Rugby team. From that, Army Rugby team won the championship.

Adding memories, Commander of the Army joined the prize awarding ceremony at the venue. Trophies were awarded to both winners and runners up of the game.

The Commander of the Army emphasized the importance of the new rugby ground of the SLAOC to facilitate for the Army rugby in future for the public media.
