NEW EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING & TAILORING SECTIONS OPENED AT ORDNANCE FACTORY- DOMBAGODA

Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Major General RV Udawatta psc ato, Colonel Commandant, SLAOC graced the inauguration of both sections which are of maximum use of the Army.

New Tailoring section which houses 50 brand new sewing machines is capable of producing PT shorts, all types of uniforms which are essentially parts of the military dresses, there by saving a fair sum of money to the Army. The Army Chief unveiled a plaque, opened the section amid applause and witnessed how the new section works.

Afterwards, the Commander was invited to inaugurate the new technical equipment manufacturing section where vehicle canopies, kit bags, canopy accessories needed for SL Army.

The Commander apparently, impresses with the ongoing production such as repairing of gas burners, manufacturing of all types of tents, LED bulbs & mortar windings.

Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, freely mingled with the workforce in the Factory and shared a couple of views with them in order to get a first-hand impression on the manufactured products before he moved to inspect Sergeants' Mess, Museum, accommodation, sanitary facilities, recreation and he also visited ongoing construction sites such as 3 story accommodation building for senior NCOs\' and 3 story accommodation building for ORs' etc to provided the soldiers, residing there.

Major General Milinda Peiris, Chief of Staff, Major General HCP Goonetilleke, Commander, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and number of PSOs', Directors, Senior Officers of Ordnance are joined the opening ceremony and lunch was hosted for mark the visit to home of Ordnance.
