MAJOR GENERAL CHANDANA MARASINGHE RSP USP ASSUMED DUTIES OF THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.

The Master General Ordnance (AHQ), Major General Chandana Marasinghe RSP USP is appointed as the 13th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps. Major General Chandana Marasinghe RSP USP was honoured by a guard turnout by the troops of SLAOC on 14 October 2020 at the RHQ premises.

On his arrival Brigadier Jagath Gamage USP AATO, Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps warmly welcomed him at the main entrance to the Regiment.

Afterwards, Major General Chandana Marasinghe RSP USP was accorded with a guard turnout and brief military tradition as per the health guidelines prevails in the country. Thereafter a brief religious observance was conducted and followed by lighting the traditional oil lamp. Newly appointed Colonel Commandant placed his signature for a formal document in the presence of Regimental Staff to signify the acceptance of duties & responsibilities of the new appointment.

After planting a Mee (Madhuca longifolia) sapling at Officers mess premises, newly appointed Colonel Commandant appeared for a group photograph with Officers. At the Officers address Colonel Commandant emphasized the importance of maintenance of an Officer Qualities, self-discipline and military professionalism. Further Colonel Commandant briefed some leadership traits which help to exercise leadership and Command. Finally he paid tribute to past Colonel Commandant and all Officers who guided him to achieved this milestone.
