INAUGURATION OF TYRE RETREADING SECTION AT SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE FACTORY
Ordnance Factory marked another defining moment with the inauguration of Tyre Retrading Section by Lieutenant General AWJC De Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander of the Army on 20th February 2017 at SLAOF premises of Dombagoda.
Major General RV Udawatta psc ato , Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps welcomed the Lieutenant General AWJC De Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest with the presence of Major General Channa Goonetilleke, Chief of Staff and several other senior officers.
Tyre Retreading Section, formally opened by cutting a ribbon subsequently unveiling a symbolic plaque by the Commander to mark his presence. This facility is capable of retreading a total of 8804 vehicle tyres of the Army per annum.
After commisioning the Tyre Retreading Section, the Commander of the Army inspected other sections of ordnance factory complex.
Marking his presence,the Commander of the Army signed the visitors’ book, posed for a group photograph and addressed the gathering.
