The aforementioned events were organized by 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps with the guidance of Mrs. R Shiroma Dhammi Fernando - the President of Seva Vanitha Ordnance branch. The Commander of the FMA(N), The Col Comdt of SLAOC Maj Gen RLC Fernando AATO, Senior Offrs, Offrs, Senior members of Ordnance Seva Vanitha branch and ORs of more than 350 family members and close relatives of 61 war heroes of SLAOC, who made supreme sacrifice to defend the motherland, were participated for these events. The "Kapruk Pooja" was held at "Ruwanwelisaya" in Anuradhapura in the evening on 7th March 2020. In addition, "Kiri Ahara Poojawa" was offered on the following day morning at "Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya" in Anuradhapura, It was followed by a "bana-breaching" in order to offer blessings for the late war heroes of SLAOC.
After the above events, a lecture on the topic of Mental Health was organized by 2 SLAOC from 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs on 08 March 2020. It was conducted by Dr. Mahesh Wijesuriya at University of Colombo. The President of Seva Vanitha Ordnance branch, senior members of Ordnance Seva Vanitha branch, Senior Offrs, Offrs and ORs of more than 100 family members were also participated for the lecture. The programme was concluded with a delicious lunch.
