Major General Channa Weerasooriya, Deputy Chief of Staff on Wednesday (6) made a formal visit to the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Factory at Dombagoda where tyres are retreaded and inspected its other functional aspects. This was his first visit after he took over the new office.
A drive-pass Guard Turnout greeted the visiting Deputy Chief of Staff before he was warmly welcomed by the Director Ordnance Services, Brigadier Indrajith Vithanachchi, together with the Centre Commandant Brigadier Ajith Munasinghe.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief of Staff inspected the tyre retreading section and received a first-hand account of its technical process. He also commended the workforce in the factory and underlined the need to maintain good standards in the production process.
