Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps paid its tribute to the memory of fallen war heroes at the Ordnance War Heroes Monument located at the 1 Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Panagoda on 14 October 2021, parallel to the 72 Anniversary.
The Director Ordnance Servicers and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Major General MEP Weerasinghe USP ato graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The Colonel Commandant was accorded with a drive pass and welcomed by the Commanding Officer 1 SLAOC, Major HMSS Bandara USP ato Lsc.
It is a noble and remarkable event organized by the Regiment in each year as a tradition, parallel to the Corps Day to pay deep gratitude to the memory of 61 fallen war heroes who made the supreme scarifies while depending the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty from LTTE terrorism which spanned over 30 years.
