The Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps commemorated its 72 Anniversary on Thursday, 14 October 2021. Major General MEP Weerasinghe USP ato the Director Ordnance Servicers and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
On arrived at the Regimental Headquarters, the Colonel Commandant was welcomed by Brigadier Ajith Munasinghe RSP ato the Centre Commandant SLAOC and invited to review the guard turnout and accompanied to the salute of the proud, dignified military guard of honour.
Afterwards, The Colonel Commandant has planted a sapling in front of the parade ground and sat for a group photograph with officers.
The Colonel Commandant extended his gratitude during address of troops, remembering great commitment of Officers and All Ranks during their courageous and enthusiastic commitments taken throughout to uplift the standard of the Corps keeping Ordnance flag high at the all time. Finally, the Colonel Commandant joined for an all ranks tea party where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks.
A brief commemoration was held adhering to health regulations and guidelines.
