A ceremonial farewell was accorded to Major General G A Munasinghe RSP ato, the Director General of Ordnance Services and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, marking his retirement from the Army after a distinguished career spanning more than 34 years of service. This honorable event took place on the 27th of October 2023 at the Regimental Centre in Dombagoda, adhering to military traditions and customs.

In line with these traditions, Colonel K M A W K Perera AATO, the Centre Commandant, extended a warm welcome to Major General Ajith Munasinghe and invited him to review the Guard turnout at the main entrance. He was accompanied to the salute of the proud and dignified military Guard of Honour, with photographs taken alongside officers. Major General Munasinghe then gracefully handed over his duties to the incoming Colonel Commandant of SLAOC, Brigadier Menaka Fernando.

Following an All Ranks tea, during his troop address, the outgoing Colonel Commandant acknowledged the support he received throughout his career and emphasized the significant role of the Corps in the Sri Lanka Army. He also expressed his best wishes for the Corp's success in the future.

Later in the day, a formal farewell dinner was hosted at the Regimental Officers' Mess, adhering to military traditions. During this gathering, the departing Senior Officer received a special memento before delivering his farewell speech.
