CEREMONIAL FAREWELL ACCORDED TO DIRECTOR GENERAL ORDNANCE SERVICES

Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps on Thuday 17 November 2022 in a fitting goodbye ceremony at the Regimental Centre in Dombagoda farewell one of its exemplary Senior Officers, Major General G K I Vithanachchi ato, the Director General Ordnance Services retired from the Army after a distinguished career of more than 34 years of service.

According to the military traditions and customs the Centre Commandant Brigadier C S Dissanayake ato welcomed the Director General Ordnance Services and invited to review the Guard turnout at the main entrance and accompanied to the salute of the proud, dignified military guard of honour.

After the Director General Ordnance Services joined with officers for a tea at the Offices’ Mess. Later in the day, he was hosted to a formal dinner at the Regimental Officers’ Mess in accordance with military traditions where the departing Senior Officer was presented with a special memento before he delivered his farewell speech to the gathering.
