The Officiating commander of FMA (N), newly appointed as the 13th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Brig RLC Fernando AATO who is old Anandian was honoured by a guard turnout and a ceremonial parade by the troops of SLAOC on Tuesday (10) at the RHQ premises.
Brig RLC Fernando AATO has held the many appointments in his career and some of key appointments are SO I (LOG) - JOH (AHQ), SO I (AQ) - HQ 57 DIV, COMDT - SCH OF ORD, CO - 2 SLAOC (ANP), OFFG COL (AQ) - SFHQ (E), COL MGO - MGO BR (AHQ) , COL (AQ) - SFHQ (J) , OFFG BRIG (AQ) - HQ SLAVF,DIR - ADMINISTRATION - TEACHING HOSPITAL - KDU
On his arrival Brig SNA Dissanayaka, Centre Comdt of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps warmly received him at the main entrance. This formal ceremony was held in order to mark his felicitation as the Colonel Commandant on 10 December 2019.
Afterwards, Brig RLC Fernando AATO was honoured with a guard turn out, ceremonial parade in accordance with military traditions. Thereafter a brief religious observance was conducted followed by lighting the traditional oil lamp. New colonel commandant placed his signature for a formal document in the presence of Regimental staff to signify the acceptance of duties & responsibilities of the new appointment.
After taking Photograph with offrs and Ors the new colonel Commandant planted a sapling at camp premises. Later on, Brig RLC Fernando AATO attended to the refreshment and shared a moment with all other Senior Officers, Officers and the Other Ranks.
At the troop address new Col Comdt emphasized the importance of working a team with dedication, enthusiasm and high disciplines as we handling govt funds and resources. At last he asked everybody to give their fullest support to achieve org goals and keep Ordnance flag high.
