The Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps celebrated its 69th Anniversary on 14th October 2018 at the regimental headquarters Dombagoda, Horana. The Ceremony Commenced on 4th October 2018 with an all-night pirith chanting ceremony to invoke the blessings on the Corps. Commemoration ceremony of fallen war heroes was held prior to anniversary day on 13th October 2018 at the monument at 1 Regt SLAOC (PNG).
The anniversary day celebrations included a guard turn out and ceremonial parade for the Colonel Commandant and Quarter Master General Maj Gen BS Vidange, all ranks tea party and all ranks lunch followed by a troop address of Colonel Commandant. In the evening, making the day significant Commander of the Army Lt Gen NUMMW Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC visited to Regimental head quarters. Commander of the Army was taken round the Premis enabling him to have a glimpse of the ongoing construction sites including international cricket ground – Dombagoda .
A sit down dinner was held at Officers’ Mess of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps where Commander of the Army graced the occasion as the chief guest.
