2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps commemorated its 23rd Regimental Anniversary on 22nd February 2020 with a series of events under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Lieutenant Colonel C T Siriwardana AATO Lsc.
In parallel to the 23rd Anniversary troops engaged in many events prioritizing many meritorious events. With the participation of all ranks offered a lunch and had an entertainment programme to Sathuta children home at Saliyapura with behavioural disordered children live to remark the 23rd anniversary celebration on 15th February 2020.
Subsequent to that celebration ceremony continued with a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama on 16th February 2020 followed with an alms giving at Mahamevuna Dhammachethiya meditation Monastery in Anuradhapura with the participation of all ranks.
In conformity with military traditions, the Commanding Officer was welcomed by the Adjutant and a guard turnout was presented on his arrival on 22nd February 2020. The 2nd in Command along with all ranks awarded a parade to the Commanding Officer.
At noon, it was invited to join all ranks lunch in accordance with formalities. After the lunch, the Commanding Officer addressed the gathering and explained the importance of the unit in the SFHQ (W) AOR and the contribution to uplift the unit standard among the whole Army. Finally thanked all Officers/Soldiers for their dedication made to colour the event.
The event concluded with a musical night performed by Pearl Rickshaw Band at regimental premises with all officers and other ranks. The tombola night gave a pretty nice experience to all ranks which was held during the musical night
