1st Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps – Panagoda, celebrated the 29th anniversary on 11 February 2021. To mark the event a series of programmes were conducted with the participation of Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Ilanga Nanayakkara AATO.
Giving prominence to religious observances, a Bodhi Pooja was conducted at the Unit Shrine Room on 10th February 2021 to invoke blessings of Triple Gem. On 11th February a Guard Turnout was accorded to the Commanding Officer and planted a Mango sapling by the Commanding Officer to mark the day as memorable.
After formal troops address, the Commanding Officer joined with All Ranks for a tea and group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion. As the final segment of the day in parallel with the 29th anniversary All Rank lunch was organized at the “Nugasewana” which is located in the unit premises.
