Master General Ordnance of the Sri Lanka Army Major General KHMS Wickramarathne RSP paid an official visit to Army Ordnance Industries Veyangoda on 30 January 2026. Upon arrival, the senior officer was warmly received by Brigadier WMAN Warnasooriya ato, Commandant of Army Ordnance Industries, and the visit commenced with a formal welcome followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
The Commandant delivered a comprehensive briefing outlining the current technical functions, production capabilities, and future development plans of the industries. Subsequently, the Master General Ordnance conducted an extensive tour of all production sections, gaining firsthand insight into ongoing manufacturing and maintenance operations.
Addressing officers and staff, MGO emphasized the importance of enhancing productivity while initiating research and development initiatives to meet the evolving future requirements of the Sri Lanka Army. He commended the dedication and professionalism of AOI personnel, acknowledging their significant contribution toward strengthening the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Army.
In appreciation of his visit and continued support, the Commandant presented mementos to the Master General Ordnance. Prior to his departure, the visiting senior officer recorded complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book, expressing his satisfaction with the progress and future potential of Army Ordnance Industries.
