Major General K. H. M. S. Wickramarathna RSP, Master General Ordnance of the Sri Lanka Army, visited the Army Clothing Depot (Veyangoda) on 30 January 2026. Lt Col G. G. M. G. de Silva ato, the Commandant of the Army Clothing Depot, warmly welcomed the visiting senior officer upon his arrival.
On arrival, the Master General Ordnance was accorded a drive-pass in accordance with military tradition and was warmly received by the Commandant and all ranks. As per the itinerary, the visit commenced with a group photograph, followed by the planting of a sapling at the ACD premises to commemorate the occasion.
Subsequently, the Commandant briefed the Master General Ordnance on the administrative and technical functioning of the Army Clothing Depot, with particular emphasis on the existing deficiencies faced by the establishment. During the visit, the Master General Ordnance inspected the Sample Room, Receipt Bay, and warehouses.
Concluding the visit, the Master General Ordnance emphasised the importance of adopting modern approaches to enhance productivity and to ensure more effective and efficient ordnance support.
Finally, the Master General Ordnance penned his thoughts and best wishes in the Visitors’ Book and departed the camp, expressing his appreciation for the dedication and discipline of all personnel.
