ASSUMING DUTIES OF NEWLY APPOINTED CENTRE COMMANDANT

The newly appointed Centre Commandant of the Regimental Headquarter, Colonel GTS Silva USP QLCO Lsc ato, officially assumed duties on 11 December 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters.

Upon his arrival, he was received and warmly welcomed by GSO I - RHQ SLAOC, Lt Col KRLS Bandara Lsc ato, after which a Guard Turnout was accorded in honour of his appointment. The proceedings commenced with a floral wreath–laying at the Fallen War Heroes’ Monument, paying tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by the brave sons of the Regiment. This was followed by the planting of a sapling, symbolising new beginnings and the continued growth of the Regiment under his leadership.

Before taking over the duties a Officers group photograph was taken infront of the RHQ office premises, and religious observance was conducted during the formal taking-over of duties, invoking blessings for his new appointment.

After assuming the duties, the Centre Commandant addressed the troops, highlighting the importance of professionalism, responsibility, trust, and unity in fulfilling regimental duties and future challenges.

The programme concluded with an all ranks tea, marking a dignified and successful commencement of his tenure.
