As part of the series of events commemorating the 75th anniversary of SLAOC, a formal ceremony was held on 13 October 2024 at the War Heroes Monument, located at the "Home of Ordnance". Inspiring the thoughts of Col Comdt, SLAOC SVB, led by its President, Mrs. Iresha Fernando, together with the members of SVB organized a series of activities to honour the families of fallen War Heroes and to highlight the Corps' enduring commitment to the welfare of those who bear the loss of soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the nation's sovereignty.
The day's events included refreshments, a luncheon, and the provision of financial assistance to the family members who attended the annual commemoration.
Distinguished attendees included Maj Gen EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, Commander Logistics Command and Colonel Commandant SLAOC, Mrs Iresha Fernando, President SVB-SLAOC , senior members of SVB, senior officers, officers, Other Ranks and the family members of the fallen War Heroes.
