SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS UNVEILS NEW HOME FOR NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER

The Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC), under the visionary leadership of Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, Commander Logistics Command and Colonel Commandant of the SLAOC, proudly inaugurated a newly constructed house for Lance Corporal KD Fernando and his family on 18 December 2024. The housewarming ceremony, held in Kalutara, was graced by Major General Menaka Fernando and Mrs. Iresha Fernando, President of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, as the Chief Guests.

This noble initiative, spearheaded by Mrs. Iresha Fernando, exemplified the unwavering commitment of the SLAOC leadership to the welfare of its personnel. It also marked a significant milestone in the SLAOC’s contributions to the Sri Lanka Army’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

The house was constructed through the collective efforts of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, Senior Officers,Officers Other Ranks, family members and the support of generous local donors. During the ceremony, the Chief Guest officially handed over the keys to Lance Corporal KD Fernando amidst traditional religious observances. Major General Menaka Fernando commended the project team for their exceptional dedication and efficiency in completing the construction.

The event was attended by Mrs. Iresha Fernando, Major General Menaka Fernando, members of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, senior officers, officers, other ranks, and family members. This momentous occasion stood as a testament to the SLAOC’s enduring commitment to the well-being of its personnel and their families, symbolizing the Corps’ core values of service, solidarity, and care.
